Never Give Up...

Today was a very tough loss for us. I appreciate you parents. Today you sure showed up Big. Let’s not forget we still have another game left and there is possibility to go onto the playoffs. Today I am reminded of a quote from Rocky Balboa. He embodied the spirit of never giving up.“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that!”- Rocky

Dirty Birds Tuesday brings a new week for us and another chance at excellence. Show up ready to prepare for our next game. Just because you had a loss today does not mean you are not a champion you are still champions in my mind. God bless each of you and have a great weekend.

  1. Great words of wisdom Coach! I know the boys are disappointed. But, you're exactly right. Life isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Thank you for your encouraging messages. You are truly inspired. I, as a parent, am so grateful for the caliber of men I have been lucky enough to have as an influence on my son. I was trying to think of something brilliant to say to help the boys feel better....should have known you would have had the perfect words. I know Cole feels really down about the whole thing, and I'm sure many if not all of the other boys do too. But as I said to Cole, TAKE WHAT YOU DID OR DID NOT DO TODAY....AND LIVE AND LEARN. Nothing can change the outcome...what you learn from your experiences can mold your future into what you want it to be.

    Thanks again Jeremy!!

  2. I couldn't agree with Jenn more! It was very tough to look around after the game and see so many teary eyes and slumped shoulders knowing how much you have all put into this and how bad you wanted it. It was hard to know what to say at that moment to bring everyone's spirits up. Kaedan was very upset after the game, as all the boys were, and we were talking about the fact that everything's not always going to go in your favor. Sometimes when you're down and overcome an upset you come back stronger. You want it even more. If that's what the boys take from this it's a good lesson learned. I love your quotes and encouragment for these boys! You coaches truly are heroes to them and all of us. I don't remember a practice or game where Kaedan didn't reflect back on something one of the coaches said to him or taught him. He has learned dedication, strength, teamwork, coachability, and so much more these last couple years. It's helped him excel in so many areas of his life. You guys are idols to these boys. You are teaching them so many skills and lessons that will be with them for years to come. Thank you so much! They couldn't be in better hands!

Saturday's a new day! Go Diry Birds!!
